Context Designs Displays for Monterey Design Conference

Context recently had the opportunity to design and build the displays for the Monterey Design Conference. The display design turned out even better than we expected (check out our conceptual design: MDC). The context team transported the pieces from Orange County to Monterey, Ca., a five hour ride that was nothing short of eventful. As soon as they arrived to the conference grounds, the team quickly got to work unloading and assembling the displays. In just 2 hours the Context team assembled the displays and wired the lighting for the boards. The quick assembly time was made  possible by strategizing and optimizing assembly methodologies. Meaning, we thought about the design in terms of parametric modules that had the same connection points and connectors, making it easy for us to connect each array efficiently.  The displays were then moved from the staging area to the reception area in a matter of minutes. Visitors were surprised to see the displays as they had been there minutes before. Needless to say the displays were a hit. People reacted very positively to the design which was made possible by collaborating with great sponsors like: Sign Methods Inc, who provided CNC shop time for the fabrication of the pieces, JRGreenlite who provided fantastic LED lighting proving to be a perfect fit for our design, and Jackel Enterprises who donated all the amazing prefinished plywood used for the displays. None of this would have been possible however without the support of our friends at ITZEN, who coordinated this whole endeavor.
